How to use a neti pot

Please follow the below points if you are practising neti.It will help you avoid any dangers associated with neti pots.

• Only distilled water must be used to prepare neti pot solution
• Only pure salt like sea salt must be used.
• It must be performed over sink or in shower.
• Avoid any air movement(laugh or talk) when solution is passing through nasal passages.
• You must remain still and breadth slowly from mouth.
• Childrens must be assisted by elders while practising neti.
• Head and pot must be at correct angle to allow smooth flow of water.
• Always learn from an expert teacher.
• Always dry noses before changing sides
• Do not bend while drying noses if you suffer from high blood pressure.You will feel dizziness.
• If you face any issues while practising neti,consult your doctor.
• Never share your neti pot
• Always wash properly and sterlise it
• Apply petroleum jelly on both nostrils for sensitive skin
• Mentally prepare yourself as at first it sounds disgusting
• Never use baking powder in place of baking soda.
